This is a Christmas present from my daughter and is in a 4" pot. I really like the color on this one.

florafan 01-04-2011 01:48 PM

Very very nice - wonderful present!

tucker85 01-04-2011 01:49 PM

I've had my Buu Lady for 4 or 5 years now and I really like it. I like the way the flowers are high above the foliage for one thing. And, of course, the pretty red color. Mine is spiking now. I hope you enjoy yours.

Ed b 01-04-2011 05:01 PM

And a wonderful daughter too of course.

Ed b 01-04-2011 05:07 PM

It is already a joy a total of eleven p. bulbs of which two are new growth bulbs. One may spike, but to early to be sure. By all means enjoy yours when it blooms.

Very pretty color, how nice to have such a nice daughter, with good taste.

Ed b 01-04-2011 06:35 PM

She is a truly wonderful daughter and has done this for the last five years. I just loved the color on this plant.

Awesome....I bought this one in june myself .
mine has just pushed a bud out of the sheath on its fist rebloom...gonna be small because I did not follow good practice and unpot when I got it and check roots because it was in bloom....lost almost every root but managed to get it to push out two new growths and a few roots....hope she looks a fraction as nice as yours .

WhiteRabbit 01-05-2011 03:17 PM

oooo ... that's fabulous! what a wonderful gift!

Ed b 01-05-2011 04:39 PM

I wish you a good bloom, the main thing is it sounds like you saved the plant.

LOL I did at that ...thank you,in case you need to know this one makes new psudobulbs and the roots will not start from the new growth untill after the Pbulbs are almost mature.Mine also likes to grow almost straight up as if to climb a tree...Mine looks like it went to the side in the picture because having one root to sustain her It wanted to lean over and I just left it where it was the most stable.

The blooms that were on mine when I bought it lasted several weeks and had just a trace of a scent ...does yours have a noticble scent?

Colour is terrific! Thanks for sharing.

I love this one whenever I see it. I have both this and it's parent Wendy's valentine. Both are great red compact catts with long lasting flowers.

Ed b 01-14-2011 03:07 PM

I would love to see the parent, any pictures? The bloom just finished on mine.

I don't have a picture at hand, but my bloom looked identical to this one, you can see hsin buu lady is kind of a mix of the color of this flower and the form of laelia anceps

You are welcom, Ed. It seems that everybody has an ever-growing long list:rofl: At some point, you will want to have larger space, so you can make the list longer:biggrin:I haven't check my list for quite a while, since every bit space in my home that can recieve enough light is taken...

dounoharm 01-14-2011 05:53 PM

nice color!!! and i like the way the flowers are held up high above the foliage too....very nice plant and very nice daughter! congrats!

pheli 01-15-2011 07:00 AM

Very nice! I like the color as well.

sailortom2 01-15-2011 02:09 PM

very nice...I have yet to get a cat to rebloom

Ed b 01-15-2011 02:51 PM

I add to mine often and seem to add as you say more than I haveroom for . I have two tables under lights and almost every window in the house in use at this point. Then again that's what the wish list is for. Now for the bigger house , #1 on the list.

Ed b 01-15-2011 02:55 PM

I'm in eaastern Montana so my advice is to keep trying .all of my Cats. are under lights.

Me too:) Can't wait to graduate

cday2inflorida 01-16-2011 01:44 AM

Lovely bloom! The fact that your daughter gave it to you makes it priceless.
When either of my kids have bought me an orchid I've cherished them like it was the most expensive plant in my collection. In fact, I've rooted the roses they gave me for Mother's day and planted them in the yard.....and I don't even like roses:)

Ed b 01-16-2011 11:35 AM

Agreed, but I think I'll keep my chids inside It's 14 below outside without the wind chill.

JPO 01-16-2011 09:17 PM

So glad to see the photo of your C. Hsin Buu Lady 'Y.T.' as I bought one that had not flowered and was wondering if the flowers were red like I hoped.

lol Missouri winters mean inside also and not having a green house or if I had one could not afford the heat probably means mine live indoors also, but Im lucky and they have their own room ....here is the progress mine has made since you started this thread.

It really upped the anticapation factor seeing this ones blooms on your post.....

Ed b 01-17-2011 06:28 PM

I'm sure it will be worth the wait and good luck.
I just noticed a couple of new growths on mine.:D
