A mini doesn't need much space
 

Yesterday,after telling myself for weeks "no more orchids", I saw this cutie in the only local place to have an array of different orchids. How could I resist. It is Slc. Memoria Alvin Beggman. I don't find anything about it on the Internet,but at least it has a name. No fragrance so far,but lots of charm.

Oh, wow! Now that I can live with! Minis are fine, Cats are even better especially mini cats. Wonderful lead and I this may be on my shopping list soon.

Yes I know how you feel, Nancy. I always tell myself oooh just 1 more to the already long long list to get. My wallet is empty my cards are packed, So far so good, The hubby hasn't screamed and me yet. As a matter of fact, he even brings them home. Got that ole boy trained :biggrin:

So sure what's 1 more 'chid .... Jeez they need us :evil:

Have you trained him what to select? :evil: :hmm Could be a Bulbo in your life sometime soon, :hmm Hmmmm.

They get to keep their "man card" :nod: got the kids trained too. My oldest son loves them in bloom and I get them when the bloom(s) goes away :) any day is an orchid day...:biggrin:

Sorry, Dj, Ross has a good point, My hub mainly brings home the sick and twisted, some we're even glued - No kidding :roll:
So still working on that selecting stuff. But last one was a beautiful green paph - so there is hope :biggrin:

Ross, I do want some bulbos, I should make a post on that soon, cuz I have no idea on their needs.

4 inches just makes it so easy to have and more room for more, Huh Nancy :D
I've only got a couple but I love them, their so cute and don't need that higher lights more catts need, many bloom 3 times per year. Wonderful little orchids for sure :cheer:

I'm sorta getting the idea here Bulbos are getting a bad rap. I am starting to like them for my own personal reasons (they thrive in shade for one reason) and not all bulbos stink, so what wrong with them? There aren't a lot of folks growing them here :hmm :scratchhead:

I see Sc. Beaufort is SOOOO many crosses. From what I have seen though, Beaufort is quite variable so you never know what it is contributing.

Watch out Nancy the more minis the more room you have, take it from you who knows :evil: I have VERY little room to grow in so I created the conditions for the Pleuro. family. Now I've run out of room & the poor little guys & gals are living on the shelves ;) Any way ~ cute one. I'm sure you can find room for "just 1 more" plenty of more times:drool:

Well,I keep saying to myself,"keep the urge for new acquisitions under control", but it seems to be impossible.
Now that I've been introduced to mini plants there are sure to be more. I understand that a visit to a place that has orchids is sure to ruin my pledge to tell myself "NO". The mini Catt that I posted is even nicer now that it has opened two more bloom.
