Not a stunner, but a cool little plant none the less! Anyway, excuse the hastily taken pics. I was getting them between spring showers and was starting to get rained on!!

This one has nice pink markings. The ones I always see in photos don't show it very well.

I think it's got a quiet charm of its own.

BTW, what's in the bottle?

Nice candida!

Thanks for the compliments!

Hi Steve,

Not sure if you recall, but a few months ago I had mentioned in another posting that I had a Ang. uniflora I just divided and was waiting to see if the backbulbs developed a new shoot? Anyhow, it finally did, so if you want to trade for it, let me know. Actually, have you considered selfing the candida? I'd trade for seed...;)

I would love to trade! The plant is fairly small, so a division is not possible, but I will self it right now and let you know how it goes!

Sounds good to me! The Ang. uniflora just started the new growth, so that might take a while too...I'll try taking a pic and posting it soon.

Sounds good! Its too early to tell if the selfing worked, but I don't see why it wouldn't. I'll keep you up to date!

Very pretty bloom, Steve. I've never grown this one, but if it's small, tidy, and (or so it looks) deciduous, those qualities might justify its purchase. Are the blooms fragrant?

Steve

It is fairly small, tidy and deciduous. I am kinda sick right now, so I can't smell it. I don't remember it being fragrant though. Let me look up last year's post...

isurus79 03-27-2010 07:39 PM

Well, last years post was worthless for scent help so I just went outside and stuck my nose in the flower. No detectable scent.

Steve,

Here's a pic on the Ang. uniflora...it's interesting how the new growth showed up so far from the backbulbs.

Wow, that is far from the bulb! Maybe the media is too deep?

2ljd 03-28-2010 06:19 PM

Could be, but it's planted like all the other Lycastes and Anguloas I have and I haven't had that happen before. They usually shoot up right next to the bulbs. Oh well, at least I know it's an Anguloa.

How funny! I wonder if it grew down, under the bulbs in the wrong direction?? My Stanhopeas do weird stuff like that fairly regularly!

Hi Steve,

Does it appear that the selfing worked?

betoguerrero 05-31-2010 08:13 PM
