An interesting little thing! I rather like it. :)
I love the compact size of this, and the blooms are pretty as well, they look so wispy!
Cool! Is it a hybrid?
That is so cool. Would it do good mounted or just on a wire?
It is a lovely species.
Ooh Calvin, I haven't seen this one before. I really like it, very nice!!
I love it and you've done an excellent job growing yours! Congrats
Cutie! I'd love having one of these little things!!!
Thanks for the comments everyone!
wgama - yes as Ted mentioned this is a species. Karen - not sure to be honest! I have it on a pad of moss attached to tree fern and it loves it - the roots dig deep into the tree fern. Supposedly this one is grown quite dry. I let it dry in between waterings, with a slight reduction during the winter. According to IOSPE, this is a rare and endangered plant. The site also says there's no fragrance, but mine smells really good, like hyacinths |
Oh, I love the smell of Hyacinths!!!
I'm gonna start looking for one of those. If I may ask...where did you get it? |
Interesting and very very beautiful!!!!
Congratulations!!! |

Calvin, I know you posted about this a while ago, but I'd like to know whether you can share culture tips with me (I just bought one)
How much light do you give it? Fertilizer? Do you think it can be potted? Thanks. |

I bake mine really close to the lights. I could probably do with a bit less though. 5" below the T5s right now. I fertilize weakly every 3 weeks or so, but only when root tips are active (easier to see on a mount). When roots are not growing, I don't water as much - just a bit of spraying. It is grown warm. Hope that helps! |
I really like it, looks like it needs enough hanging space though.
Thanks! The vendor's picture shows he grows his potted in rock.
Jay's webpage indicates it's xerophytic---so it doesn't like to be watered/fed much? |
