Nice ones Brooke! Anymore from that compot...:poke:

The color of the first one is just wonderful! That's the color of violacea I would like. Great photo of the alba.

Those are both beautiful, Brooke. I especially like the alba, though - what an amazing flower!

mspatt 06-30-2009 06:44 PM

The 'alba' is exquisite--can't wait for mine to bloom, but it is still fairly small. How old must the plant be before it puts on a show like yours??

SP2340 06-30-2009 06:49 PM

Beautiful, very nice, thank you!!

Both are really gorgeous. The alba is my fav :D

Those are BOTH fantastic in my book - would LOVE to have them both some day!
I noticed the pink one seems to have a couple (latest) wavy leaves - do you know what causes this and if it is a negative or normal? I have a few plants also doing this right now.........

GASP!!!

Beautiful, brooke! I also got an alba from Big Leaf, but it's a baby. It does have a bud, though, that gets bigger and bigger every day. I hope I can get a beautiful bloom like yours. How long have you had yours? Thank you so much for sharing!

Brooke 07-01-2009 07:45 PM

Thanks everyone - glad you enjoyed them.

Mspat and catgrrrl - I've had the plant for four years and it has six spikes.

2ljd - I've kept three from the compot and gifted the others to friends and my orchid club raffle table.

Mayres you can't really see it but the top leaf also has the ripples in it. If you find out what causes this let me know because I don't have a clue.

W-O-W! Both are simply stunning, Brooke! Truly gorgeous!

catgrrrl 07-01-2009 07:53 PM

Thanks, Brooke. I hope I can keep mine alive and well enough to be able to bloom close to as well as yours. Beautiful!!!
