Hello everyone. I just purchased this Zygo today. He is jumping out of the pot. I have a few questions. Should I leave it in this potting mix until he is finished blooming? I am hesitant to do so I had an oncidium that hated this mix but this is a semi terrestrial not an epiphytic orchid. When I do repot it what pot size do you think it will happy in? I will be potting in pea gravel. Thank you!!!

Hi princesjess13, I would use a pot big enough for 2 more growths. As to medium... I don't grow these, so keep that in mind. All the ones I've seen at markets growing in medium like yours look much better than the ones growing in the different kinds of media the experts here recommend.

Thank you! I feel like the biggest pseudobulb would easily fit into a 4” pot alone. Maybe I will try a 6” in know where they have them in the store around town. I guess I will wait and see what happens as far as the media. I just don’t want to lose the plant. I’m willing to bet there is a big globe of foam in the middle or moss

Mine is in mix of moss and bark. It's a pretty solid mix that never dries out. I run a fan across it too and it's growing well.
