Dear Group ,

Where do you buy Ceramic Planter Pots with No Drainage Holes for Orchid Display and Watering ? I tried looking online and can hardly find anything.

The ones from Ikea are drabby white and are not too big. I am looking for Red or Green , about 5 " to 8 ".

Thank you.

If the pots DO NOT have drainage holes, they are often referred to as cache pots or vases, sometimes even cups and bowls (and many other household containers). Look beyond the gardening department.

I hope you are wanting them to surround another pot (with holes). Drainage is kinda important for orchids and most other plants.

I find a lot of mine at goodwill, arc, etc. These places have beautiful cache pots for such a low price I also find a lot of terracotta cache pots at King Scooper those are really nice to use.

Thrift stores!!!! We have a thrift store in town that always seems to have some decretive pots for $1 each. The ones I find look like the pots people get orchids in oddly enough.

In NYC I go to Chinarown. Many stores carry a wide assortment at very reasonable prices, provided that you are OK with Chinese motifs.

agree. I am setting up a display and found a varied lot at Goodwill and they were the cheapest out of all the charity stores.

If you are setting up a display for a judged orchid show, as a judge, I recommend you be careful and you do not get carried away with overly ornate cache pots as they may significantly detract from your flowers. Remember the judges are assessing the flowers, not the cache pot.
