Question Best material for baskets

I am making some baskets for some of my chids. Does anyone know how they would react to white cedar? I don't want to put them into something that will try to kill them.

Don't know white cedar, but I went to a local lumber store and bought a piece of red cedar, cut it up and made a large basket for a specimen catt, and it's been doing great ever since.

I doubt the white would be any different.

Thanks, Ray. I know white cedar dust is pretty dangerous to humans and just wanted to check.
