Phal. root question
Default Phal. root question

This Phal. has been growing what I believe are aerial roots. Notice they grow away from light. Have to turn pot so these root are in direction in light. Wil this hurt the plant? Also it is getting so big it will be difficult to repot in a bigger pot. What is option?Phal. root question-img_0387-jpg

It will not be difficult to repot. You will know when the time comes, maybe in a year.
The roots will go to the direction of moisture not light.... so let them go to any direction they like. The leaves and flower spike will go to the direction of light.

One thing that might make it easier, is to "direct" the roots to grow in a direction that will make it easier to fit in a pot... AS they are growing... Otherwise, you can wet them and gently bend them into the new pot, when it comes time to repot (if you choose the later, you can just let the roots do their thing now)

Or when repotting, put them into a shallow pot like one of those saucers used underneath a normal pot whether clay or plastic. Then pour media over the roots and tie it in place. Nice and shallow. When bending roots, do it dry. When they are filled with water they crack and break quickly. When dry they are more pliable.
