I will add that i also do not understand why you would want to conceal the best part of the plant but that is a personal choice so i respect your call

Alice ,I’m sure that you are right ..I had it potted for awhile ,2-3 weeks & it wasn’t drying out between waterings. I had it potted until I got basket to put it in . I’m in Canada (B.C.)& it’s cold & snowy & grey outside so wasn’t getting enough light even in south window. I have it under a grow lamp now too so am hopeful I will get a flower in spring or summer ..always hoping that I don’t kill it in the meantime! 🙂

Dirty coconuts .. I can’t grow anything outside,it’s winter here .my temp is - 13 C (8F) & wind brings temp down to -18c ..& it’s warmed up! I’m going to put it outside in the summer . Yours look great ! The reason why I wanted info on cutting stem is bc my dog was chewing on it & I wasn’t sure if it would make her sick ...and I didn’t know I could bend stem like that! I will have to try to do that 😁

Sharon i did not bend the stems i used the natural bends and bend the roots.

I don't think any amount of soaking will allow the stem to bend that much.

just wanted to be clear so you don't go breaking the plant on my advice !!!

FSU-

this is another option if you want more than a hook- on another member's advice i tried my hand at bending wire for hangers and came up with this ….for vandas...just twist and they slide right in....it would not contain the roots fully but you could make one much larger and loop the roots through the outer rings if you desired
