Clear Plastic pots with cheap shipping? - Orchid Board

Maybe I'm being overly cheap, but is there a supplier of clear plastic pots that doesn't charge $10-$15 for shipping? I like the selection and product cost at Repotme, but $10 to ship some light plastic cups is a bit high, IMO.

I've never used plastic to repot, but I bought some Phals planted in them, and i love it! Seeing the roots and moisture level is awesome. I want to make the switch, but we'll see what I can get on the cheap.

Also, I've thought about drilling holes in Rubbermaid containers. The dimensions are usually not as flower pot-ish, but I'm sure they will get the job done. Another down side: could be hard to put them into opaque pots for show, etc.

I know what you mean about the shipping! Check out ebay - I have sometimes found clear pots there for less shipping cost

chulaorchids.com. I'm not sure how many you need. I got a shipping estimate for like 60 plastic pots and it was like 11 bucks to ship. It doesn't really work out as well for just a few pots, but even then it would be cheaper than buying Tupperware. I found someone local that was as cheap, so i didnt have to order i didnt see a location for you, but if youre in south florida i can tell you where to go in boynton beach Anyhow, good luck!

I'd check out Ray's website, firstrays.com. He's known for semi-hydro but he also offers varying "normal" clear pots on the cheap, and he only charges you what it costs to ship them.

I've bought some pots from chula orchids before - only 10 small ones, I don't recall what the shipping was, but I remember I thought the total cost was reasonable

I just ordered a large shipment of clear pots from Quarter Acre Orchids and was very pleased with the shipping rate and the service I got from Stef. And these were being shipped from U.S.A. to Canada. It doesn't cost anything to look and e-mail her. She can give you an idea of shipping cost. Lots of variety too.
