Default Very First Mount!

I tend to over-love my orchids, so I mounted my two phals. Watering every day is much more my style than only watering every few days -- I forget that way!

The first one is mounted on split cedar with a pad of sphag moss. I used basic household twine to keep it on there 'cause my drill sucks and drilling a bunch of holes for zip ties sounded like a huge pain. It's got new growths coming out and I'm very pleased!

The second one is on a slatted plaque with moss and zip ties -- it was VERY unhealthy a few weeks ago and has been in a vase with a bubblestone the last month or so. I'm hoping the buds aren't all going to fall off, but the probably will.

Critique away!

The only thing I gotta say is just remove that spike. It looks like it's not going to do anything for you anyways.

Good work. When you water it, how long does it stay wet? Just curious.
I agree with King on the spike.

When I water in the mornings it's usually dry by late afternoon.

Oh I think that is good that it stays moist most of the day. I think it will do well.
