Vanilla and Catt Cultivation
Default Vanilla and Catt Cultivation

Wanted to show you guys something I noticed today while repotting a Cattleya. The Vanilla next to it had sent a root in to its medium. The decomposing bark seemed to be detrimental to the Catt but the Vanilla seemed to thrive in it. That's the 2nd time I have seen this. So I laid the Vanilla roots on top of the Vanilla medium and put the old Catt medium on top like a mulch. Hope I can keep the Vanilla root. The Catt had to be repotted.

What I was trying to show is what is bad for the Catt was good for the vanilla. I've taken the old Catt medium and used it on some of my vanillas.
