Since it wicks water does pumice retain water longer than lava rock? Thanks.
EJ from Orchid SaGa you tube channel uses pumice, I love his videos and I think he is very experienced in using pumice, I was also thinking to try pumice but I could not find good source of it, yes Amazon sales it but very expensive, I saw one local supplier has it but looks like need to buy in bulk, I am thinking to check with them if I get in small quantity.

But I think pumice would be good choice as well if you check Orchid SaGa he has video on transferring orchids in semi-hydro in pumice explained step-by-step.

If you can't get pumice inexpensively and locally I don't think it's worth buying for use in S/H. LECA works at least as well as any other material for S/H.

I agree with you, it just I was thinking to experiment, but again experiment with Orchid growing will take long time , same thing is with LECA for me I do have bag of it bought couple of months back but scared (in the terms of amount of work it needed) by watching videos to preparing it but Ray did mention on his website to soak it at least for 24 hours which I will try soon.

Please let me know your LECA preparation routine if you are using it.

Thanks.
