Default What are the properties of coco husk in windowsill conditions?

I am thinking about repotting some of my plants into coco husk coir. OK, I already got the big block of coco and it's soaking in magnesium water right this instant. But I wanted to do some more due-diligence before subjecting my plants to it, and started reading some old forum posts.

I initially got it because I thought it would hold onto water better than bark, but not get too soggy like sphagnum. But doing some more research on it, I am reading from some old forum posts that it is actually used by some growers to be less moist than bark. Is that really possible? It seems like it's made from little sponges, and doesn't have any problems wetting even when watered with e.g. a watering can instead of taking it all the way over to the sink and drenching it. What's the consensus on coco husk's properties? Is it possible that there is a wide divergence between how it acts in a greenhouse versus indoors under lights?
