Default Masdevallia Southern Sun

This was a freebie from Orchideen Lucke, I wouldn't try to grow Masdevallias as I grow indoors on windowsills and don't have great conditions for them.

I have had the plant for over a year, it did produce spikes but these quickly withered.

This winter I moved it into an unheated room on a sunny windowsill, this time the spikes did not blast.

Masdies are my new favourites. Bright, cheerful and always one or 2 or 3 plants in bloom. Definitely need it cooler and with a high humidity, my basement turns out to be perfect for most of them.

Wow,it's so beautiful. My conditions are not ideal either but you've done so well that maybe more masdies will find their way to you. Carry on!

Masdies have been a favourite of mine since I joined the hobby, however, I have never really had great luck for long periods. They are difficult and the conditions they get are very hard for me to replicate. Congrats, you accomplished no small feat.
