Ok,

So I had a win I think with an ebay buy from theorchidezone.
Although one flower got snapped off in transit and the other suffered some tearing, the plant itself is super healthy. Infact I was able to separate it into three clones without having to do any cutting. Speaking of which, I had zero dead roots and tons of nice thick, beige or green living roots. Almost never see an orchid in such a good condition from ebay.

I've decided to pollinate one of my Machu Picchu flowers with the pollen from the flower that snapped off. It's hard to get the pollen in there, geese!

Here are some pics. Also, in the closeup of the flower you can see some pitting on the sepals. Do you think this is something I should be worried about in terms of the future of the plant.

Yea I hope it takes, then I will have to decide weather to do it myself or look into a professional flasking service.

Yikes! I would have to go with a professional flasking service just because I've never done this and would hate to ruin it. It would be loads of fun if you can manage to pull it off and awesome to have seedlings to watch mature.

If you have access to an autoclave you have the most important equipment. I bet somebody can teach you sterile technique and plating if you don't already know that.

Still, it might be good to pollinate something common and practice with that seed, and send the really interesting stuff out until you're more experienced.

You don't need an autoclave. You can sterilize many things by boiling. I bet you could do it if you read up.

Sterile technique is not what I am worried about. I am worried about the right growing media. Is there a place where I can buy that?

Very nice plants and nice bloom. I would be way to scared to try it with those.
