What did I do wrong with Pleurothallis mastodon?

I have my little Lepanthes and others in the Pleuro group mounted with the ends of the mount or a piece of hanging moss in water. The mount/moss wicks up the water to the roots and keeps them damp. It really is an easy way to grow them. I have them all in little greenhouses to provide the proper humidity.
