These are an interesting genus. When I was a kid I think there was one of these that had a heart-shaped leaf with a pattern on it featured in a National Geographic magazine. They said it bloomed only one day, but it was beautiful and I've never forgotten it. The same article had Masdevallia as one of the"unusual" orchids featured. Of course, this was 40 years or more ago!

Things change... a lot! I have a lot of Aciantheras here. They last seven, fifteen days...
