Yes, I think that is a good way to describe it. : )
It is also interesting. I find paphs to fit in the same category (I currently have a very hairy one in bloom). Very nice photography!

Nope, you and the flower are not odd....that flower is specifically engineered by nature to be exactly that way....it has a purpose just like how important your purpose is in this forum.
I find the colors quite festive. the shape and texture are amazing. the form is beautiful....now, compared to classic orchids this is unique on its existence....I am lucky to have seen it as you photographed and presented it so well.
