Do you know what the humidity in your home ranges from? This would help determine what adjustments or set up you would need. They do best in very high humidity, generally 80% and above. Some require 90% or more constantly and with one small dip they will not last.

Here's the modified set up I have to give you an idea of my method, aka RJSquirrels method modified. He's a member here that uses fish bowls filled halfway with LECA and then top fills with sphag, placing a sphag filled net potted plant inside for his Masdevallias. There's a whole thread on his method and other peoples variations on his theme you might want to explore.

Thank you so much, Paul. I will definitely have a look and see if it is something I want to pursue further.

I hope people don't mind the thread resurrection here!
I'm wondering if anyone has any updates to this method? I have recently moved across a dracula to a similar vase set up, but it's too early to tell if it's working. Would be nice to hear if anyone has had any success with this.
Up until now, I had the same dracula (simia) growing well enough mounted using some wicking 3d mesh material, but I guess my conditions aren't humid enough as it has never spiked. UK wintertime is pretty good in terms of dracula conditions, albeit with a shorter day length.
Thanks!

I have them in a terrarium. Very high humidity, not only roots ..but leaves. But I like the tech in that vase, make sense to me.

@dirtycoconuts - that's pretty good going! Unfortunately I live in a 3rd floor apartment and while I wouldn't say no to hanging it outside of the window, likely it's too exposed to wind + sun.
@Sade2020 - I think a terrarium will be my next option. Christmas is coming!

I assume this is true in your area but near me people will practically give away old fish tanks. Vinegar and elbow grease and you have a fresh clean terrarium lol
Check garage sales and give away Facebook groups

For a number of years I kept an eye out for old aquariums at yard sales. I now have around 7 of different sizes, none of which cost more than $10. Some of them have cracks or are not water tight, but that isn't a problem; I use those in the sunroom, where leaks don't matter.
And: Check out this thread. RJSquirrel said he didn't grow Dracula like this because they are pendant, but I bet somebody could figure it out.
Growing masdies/draculas in glass bowls?
