Default stelis humbeliformis

I picked this little one up at our orchid show last year, without having any idea what it would look like. It's an intriguing little article. The flower is much bigger than the leaves. Only one for now, but it's still a very young plant.

Nice ! Must be related to Masdevallias, which I don't grow or know, because it has that shape.

It's not a Stelis, it's a Masdevallia, though not a species I recognize. May even be a hybrid, but it is not a Stelis.

Thanks Ron. I went by the name tag, and just assumed that it was correct. I bought it from Ecuagenera.

I went to the site of ecuagenera.com and they dont have that plant in the list of sold or unsold orchids...maybe look at the masdies they are selling and maybe, just maybe your flower will have a picture...email them too ; you need to sort this out...its such a lovely flower to be inadvertently mislabeled...

I looked up my order, and I ordered a stelis umbelliformis. I didn't think anything of it when it said humbeliformis, thinking that I myself had misread the name. It is still on their price list ($14). I'll ask them what happened when they come in February. I now doubt my self if this is a stelis - amd I want to know! Thanks everyone for helping me.

Lovely Masdie (I too can't see this being any kind of Stelis). Love those closeups!

Ecuagenera makes quite a few mistakes with the plants they send. I figure that several in every order will be incorrectly labeled. Not quite sure why that is though I suspect it's just the sheer number of plants they handle.
