I just checked the heritage of your hybrid.
It's Masdevallia Angel Frost x Highland Fling.
Masdevallia Angel Frost = Masd (veitchiana x strobelii)
Masdevallia Highland Fling = Masd (Copper Angel x veitchiana)
Masdevallia Copper Angel = Masd (triangularis x veitchiana)
This hybrid has a lot of Masd veitchiana influence.
Masd veitchiana is one of those nosebleed high elevation growing Masdevallias.
What are the temperatures of your growing area?

um..... i think its around 66 ATM. it doesnt get any hotter than 85 in summer.

by the way.. thanks for all your help. the lady from j&l said that this one was an intermediate grower and should be fine with m conditions.. was i ripped?

No, I don't think you were ripped.
I think the plant may have a stronger tendency to like it about the same temperature range that you have it in at the moment.
The thing that's in your favor is that Masd strobelii and Masd triangularis are warmer growing. But the genetic influence of these species with your hybrid is rather small.
I really wouldn't grow it any warmer than you have it now, at any given time of the year, just to be safe.

Just to give you an idea...
85 F may be on the edge of being uncomfortably warm for Masdevallia veitchiana.

err.... i dont know how i could achieve that. the temperatures i gave you, are if i keep it inside under the lights. if it was outside it would be 97! how would i get it down low enough? without building a terrarium
