Masdevallia (bicornis x veitchiana)
Purchased this plant a few months ago. Loved the unusual shape and color of this flower. The bud took weeks to develop and grow but well worth the wait in my opinion! I don't think it's going to open any more... The lip (correct word??) is hinged and jiggles when the flower is moved -- just too cool! Barbara

Very cool Barbara!!! I love this Masdie. How cool does it like to be?
Ironwood, I think it would be really cool if you added the word Diaphanous to the site's glossary

I have this plant is my masdie terrarium, and the temps have ranged from in the low 40's at night (when we were experiencing some cold nights) to the high 80's during the day (when we experienced really WARM days. We haven't moved the AC unit into the bay window yet. I have a misting system in there, and during the really warm days, I have the fan as well as the misting system on. I hope this answers your question!
