Masdas continue to amaze me with their variations.[/quote] from Rosie

I agree with Rosie. I'm new to Masdas growing . What unusual blooms some of them have!!!! They are fun to grow.

After 3 months with Masdas, they are all alive and doing well. The temps are Ok for growing them now, but what will happen this summer???????

That's a nice one I haven't seen before. The color gradation is quite unique.

Marilyn and Cyann;

I'm new to them as well since I won a Masd. cosmia as my local orchid society door prize.

How are you caring for your plants? Right now mine is on my kitchen sink window sill facing east. I'm keeping it moist and cool but my humidity dropped to about 40 percent since the heat is on now. I'm also watering it almost every other day since it is in sphag in a 1 1/2 - 2 inch clay pot. Seems to dry out in a heartbeat.

Cheers.
Jim

Hi,

Wow very cool. Is it a stinker? Looks like one.

Marilyn and Jim, I am new to Masdies too. I have done nothing but kill them and at best keep them alive for the past three years. That is until 5 months ago, when I moved them to my small office. I keep them over an open aquarium (which I have done for a few years now). I think that is what kept them alive so long. And I keep the tank next to a window so temps stay in the 50's-60's all winter long. About 5 months ago I moved them to my office where they started getting tons of light, a few burned leaves here and there, but nothing serious at all. What I did see was a spike in growth and about 1 month ago I added a humidifier which I run all night and part of the day. I am now seeing spikes all over the place!
Also I fert weakly weekly. Or is it weekly weakly? hehe. I use common miracle grow. We will see in a month if I really am going to get my blooms!
