Default Masd Hoosier Angel

Masdevallia Hoosier Angel 'Mellow Yellow' (agaster x veitchiana) I get no credit at all for blooming this. I was helping sell at the Marsh Hollow sales table at yesterdays' orchid meeting and Mario let me pick a plant from the table to say thanks. This is the one that came home with me....now to find out if I can grow this without the aid of my Masdie tank.

Gorgeous! I used to have that one..."used to" being the key word. I'm sure you will have better luck - this one was one of mine at the beginning of my orchid growing, so I was still pretty inexperienced. It sure is beautiful though!

Great photo and I love the flower.

Has a lot of character and great colour.

It's good to see more people discovering how wonderful they are.

I believe this one is supposed to be warmth tolerant. You can always call Hoosier Orchids, the breeders of this cultivar. They are wonderfull about helping , even if you didnt get the plant directly from them. That service went along way in winning them a loyal customer.

Scott, you are correct, it is warmth tolerant. I actually live about 5 minutes from Hoosier Orchid, and they are so wonderful about helping. I've emailed/called them numerous times for advice or diagnosis on orchids of mine.

Good luck with the masdevallia - it is definitely a beauty! The fuzz on it is so fun, too!

Thanks!

Actually Mario did assure me that it was warmth tolerant and said that my room conditions were okay for it....so it should be fine. Thanks so much for the advice to contact Hoosier. I appreciate it!
