Default Not sure about this...

I recently bought my first Masdie:
Masdevallia zahlbrucknerii

I'm posting a pic of the whole plant along with a close-up of what I think MAY be a bud. I have no idea what to look for on this type of plant so I'm hoping one of you can help me...

If you are referring to the purple/dark stemmed thing leading out down towards the roots, I would have to say you are right! Get excited!! That's great!
