Would love to go to Andy's. Thought about going to his last open house but with the crazy high gas prices the cost for me would be about $80 if not more. Maybe the prices will drop (probably not). At least during fall or winter it will be cooler and no need to run a/c so less fuel consumption.

Spoke with him today and he told me the Octomeria praestens would do OK outdoors here. Debating if I should do 3 day saver shipping or 2 day. Don't think it should take 3 days to get from Andy's to here but don't want to take a chance due to the 90+ degree weather. Can't always be sure with these delivery companies. However just got some orchids from Krull-Smith and they sent those via UPS, took 3 days and they all look OK.

Makes sense that mounted orchids are getting more air when compared to potted ones. I would think, too, that ones that are placed in baskets with little or no media would also be getting plenty of air and no issues with overwatering.
