Default Light💡overdose ... Now need rehab help!

Hope everyone is fine these days!

I want to share this ..super mistake; a failure I made last week.

I went on a trip for 7 days and in a part of the growing area, the automatic light never went out, so they have been 24/7 ON. The most affected orchids are 3 mini Masdavalias and much less 2 Draculas.

I believe that due to the burns on some leaves, some sore of infection has been developed. I can cut the affected leaves but in some cases that will be 50% of the plant. Thankfully, the new growth doesn't look affected.

This is what I've done to try to solve the situation as much as possible:

1) I fumigated light with a product that is up to species and that I normally use.
2) I've reduced the lighting to an on and off schedule for 10 hrs instead of +8 hrs on nonstop.
3) I've decreased the humidity from 85-90% to 75% to avoid fungus or extra damage.

Any suggestions... Is what I am doing logical to you?

Thanks!!!!

I wouldn't cut anything yet. I would reduce the humidity as far as you think safe for a few days so the damaged spots dry.

I wouldn't have thought continuous light would cause problems like that.

Looks more like stress damage than led damage to me.

I'd feed them with a balanced fert, making sure to use the right ph.

Rest sounds fine to me

ohhhh well ...yes you are right; stress maybe from not getting a light off, kind of like, insomnia for 7 days? ... hahahaha. I am kidding...

I think that anything out of the ordinary will create stress, in this case ...excess of light cuz no matter if is natural or led, the plant understands when is dark o bright, as you and me as humans.

Wiki Me since I have faced this in this past...and now ..glup glup !

dont cut yet- reduced light will allow the plant to restore it's normal levels but burns are burns

i have a lot of plants with black and dead spots on leave from moving them without proper acclimation. they survive
