The first time this has bloomed in my care and WOWOWOW!

Bloom is about 4 1/4" tall with a second bud following close behind.

Thank you, Roberta! I did my best to capture the shimmer, though nothing compares to seeing it in person.

I grow this in my fridge terrarium, which I water daily by hand. Temperatures are around 68°F/20°C in the daytime and 59°F/15°C for 6 hours overnight. Humidity hovers between 85 & 95%. There are two LED lights, one warmer white tube at the rear and a cool white bar at the front.

Here's a thread about building the fridgarium, if you're interested!

Magnificent color and more than 1 flower! When I die I must not go to hell since I need to grow Masd. and this lifetime has not given me success. Love the fridge.

In heaven, the conditions are right for every orchid to thrive.

I've managed to kill three veitchiana now. Almost assuredly too much heat in summer and spacing out the need to bring into the AC. I finally quit torturing them, but may have to give it one.more.try.

Meanwhile, DeaC, you bring the hot dogs and marshmallows, and I'll bring the ice and beverages.
