what a cool-looking flower, even for a Dracula. the form is unique, and the colors remind me of smoky quartz or fine wood or sand. I love how the clear pastel/blush colors of the lip contrast with the gritty texture of the petals.

Neo, I love your description of this Dracula. I went back to look at the photo several times, to train my eye to see what you saw. I have smoky quarts. I saw that when I looked a second time.

As an RN that worked for 52 yrs, retiring when I was 72, I know lots about human anatomy. I am learning so much about the names of the parts of orchid bloom. I read every new post, and go back to previous years also. Thank you and all the others here for "schooling" me.

Wonderfully detailed "monkey face"-wish I could grow them. Is bloom above foliage or descending from bottom of pot? TY

Beautiful flower...I can't grow Draculas, too hot around here. But I know some species can handle high temps...I'l investigate to know which ones and maybe try to get one.

That orchid really sucks big time. They call heeeeeem dracula. Another resemblance is the underside of a stingray.
