They're not in the DCIM Directory?

Are you saying it downloads without you prompting where to download it to?

Or are you saying you cannot find it on the camera's directory?

Look at the camera and see what the file names are. Then search your PC for those file names. Alternatively, remove the memory card, insert it into an external card-reader and manually copy them onto your PC hard drive.

How about doing a search of your whole computer for *.jpg or *.jpeg? You'll come up with a lot of stuff your not looking for, but with that many photos copied from your camera you should find a directory with the ones you're looking for.

Might be helpful to know your OS (Windows, iOS, Android, etc.) and version (e.g., Windows 7). Other that that, the first things I would try are the above. You can also search by modified or create date and the date on the computer files will be the date you downloaded them.

Too bad we can't root around in your C: drive.

Did your destination folder size grow relative to the files downloaded? If so, the files might be hidden. Had that happen once, don't know how and don't remember how I unhid them.
