Default Photos from the Garden Center

So I needed to go to one of the local garden centers near me today. Some kind of fungus is trashing my front lawn. Of course the spot in the store where the special fertilizers and other things is right across the way from the orchid display! I actually controlled myself today and didn't walk out of the store with the Blc. 'Rustic Spots' that I've been wanting for some time. But tomorrow is another day...

I did however walk out into the perennial section and bought about $50 in other kinds of plant! Doh!

But I also brought along my camera with my new 70-200 f4 L lense. Garden centers are always a great place to shoot, if the owners don't mind.

Here's a couple of my more favorite shots today. I messed with them a bit. The angle was one not usually seen.

I have this plant growing in my backyard, some sort of perennial daisy.

Then I messed with a couple of the shots:
Hyper Daisies

Hyper Daisies 2

And this plant, what a freak! It looks like some sort of head dress from Marti Gras.

The plants I bought are pretty cool, but not yet fully in bloom. Maybe a month or so. I think that's why I like to garden, so I can have all the plants near by to shoot.

Hey Chas, Nice pics. Plant # 2 is Modarda, maybe Monarda Jacob Cline. It's in the mint family and is also known as Bee Balm or Oswego Tea.

Thanks for the kind words all!

Thanks Royal! You're right, it has squarish stalks up to the flower, so it is indeed in the mint family. I need to find a spot in my garden to plant that one. It's so unusual looking and I love the height of the plant. I have lots of low and mid growing plants, but few very tall plants.

Oh, by the way, I bought the BLC. Rustic Spots today. I had to take the kids to the dentist office and the garden center is right next door. And I needed very small pee gravel for one of my bonsia ficus. So I just bought it! It's such a nice plant with two beautiful blooms! I love orange flowers.
