Default Flowering Cacti

Although I really enjoy growing and blooming orchids, cacti are my first love. I just took these this morning and they are so beautiful I had to share them.

I had some Cacti for a while but never got them to flower, they have such stunning colours.

Rosie, the secret to good flowering is to totally with-hold all water during the winter.

Ah, I'll remember that if I get some more. I might give them another try if I get tempted when I see them in the store.

My watering was always quite random... basically whenever I remembered. (I'm far more careful about orchid watering).

That's incredible! Hard to believe such beautiful flowers can come from such rather unattractive plants. NICE photography, too!!

They are magnificent!
I can say that they are in a class with first prize winners at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

Thanks for posting. It brings back memories. I was given a sack of them by relatives of an old collector who could no longer care for them when I was in High School and still miss them.

Beautiful pictures, I particularly like 6 7 and 9 - I have to wait another couple of weeks for my collection to respond to the warmth we've been having, but the buds are all there and revving up!

Nice growing and great photos

Regards
Heather

Nice collection. That's what I always liked about growing cacti when I was in Oregon.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
