Default I got me a DSLR Camera..That's RIGHT!!

My husband and I went into HH Gregg today to see if they had eneloop rechargeable batteries. I'm tired of paying for those Lithium batteries and junking up the planet! Any way they had what I was looking for and so I bought the batteries and the charger. As we were walking out my husband noticed a DSLR for cheap! It's an Olympus E410. It came with 2 lenses; 14-42mm and 40-150mm. He is such an instigator and told me I should buy it. After some thinking, about 5 seconds, I bought it. Since the price was right, the price being $297.16 w/tax! I'm really happy right now, even though I don't know how to work it yet! Any suggestions? Anyone want to come show me how to work it? Anyway, I just wanted to share my elation!

Well I know you have a good camera..... Olympus is one of the best. My father has life membership with them since he had huge dealings with them through his work.
I have a smaller and slightly older olympus. 8MPX, but it does the job VERY well.

Peter, I'm glad I got a good camera, especially for the price! I was really set on getting a Canon, but I would have been dumb to pass up on this one. I've heard from a few people that said Olympus was a good brand. Now I just need to learn to work it!

Bolero, if I ever get blooms I will definitely get some great pictures. I'm still learning this camera. It's my first DSLR and I have no idea what I'm doing. I played a little this morning with it, but need to do more to be able to figure it out.

So, have you figured out your DSLR by now?
Fun, arn't they? If not a bit more expensive with all the bits and pieces.
Any pics from the new camera?

Wonderful news Amanda. I agree that Olympus is one of the best. Ceratinly up there with Canon and I've always thought Olympus lenses were better than Canon lenses. The electronics and digital 'stuff' (high tech term ) inside all these higher end cameras are pretty much the same. It's the optics that really make the difference.

Way to go!

Amanda,

The great thing about digital cameras is you can practice by taking hundreds of pictures! Experiment-- have fun-- if the pictures stink-- delete them. You're not out anything for film or developing.

Pick one subject and try every setting so you can see the effect of each.

Have fun

I just noticed that this thread has new postings! I have gone a few places with it and have tried different things with it. I'm still feeling it out and am totally dumb with the technical terms used. But, I have fun with it!!

Here are just a few of the pictures I have taken.

It looks like you're having fun with your camera! And that's what it's suppose to do, give enjoyment.

I bought a new camera a couple weeks ago too. I had to update my old Canon digital Rebel something fearce. It was starting to have issues. So I got a new (not the latest version) Canon 40D. Combined with my 70-200 f/4 L lense I'm having so much fun taking pictures again. This camera is really fast and accurate. It takes wonderful pictures. I love.

I hope you continue to love your camera too!

I think I will love it for a long time to come. I got a new lens last week for it. A Fisheye/Macro lens attachment. I just can't seem to find anything to stay still long enough for me to get a good picture! It's a neat lens! Too bad my Sharry Baby isn't blooming!
