Default Moth - samsung S2 GT-i9210T

A few days ago, when I was watering the garden plants, I thought I had surprised a big butterfly ----- which flew out from somewhere ----- having very showy turmeric coloured orange wings when it was flying.

It flew around the leaves of a plant (I think a Dracaena marginata plant) ...... and eventually noticed it was a moth. A fantastic moth.

Just like many butterflies, the spectacular colours of the 'upper' side of the wings become hidden when the wings are in the folded (closed) position.

This moth has the nice camouflage ---- looking like a leaf, or leaves.

I didn't want to disturb the moth while it was resting just to see the nice colours again - so no colourful shots unfort!

These phonepics were captured with my old samsung s2.

I forgot to mention ---- the length of the moth was maybe a couple of inches. At least 2 inch in length.

Excellent camouflage for sure. Would loved to have seen the upper coloration.

Don't share your discovery with Gingercat.

haha! True DeaC! It was a great thing that the moth was very still. I think gingercat was somewhere nearby - but just so-happened to be somewhere else, as I was using the water hose for the plants, and gingercat stays well away when I use the trigger sprayer with the hose hehehe.
