If you go to the base URL for the site, there's all sorts of info:
http://primera.tamu.edu/orchids/orchids.htm

Much of that is Dr. Yin-Tung Wang's work, and he's doing a nice job of trying to put science into orchid culture. I have an issue with some of it, though.

Take the original article segment posted in this thread: Down at the bottom there is a comparison of flower number and development in phals with different day-length treatments. While that's a fine experiment by itself, it proves little as flowering in phals is dependent more on temperature changes than day length. It seems to me that all that was demonstrated was that phals need sunlight to produce enough energy to flower the their best advantage... a real "news flash".

So, the moral of the story is to read such articles (and the posts on forums like this), but don't necessarily accept them at face value, instead challenging them scientifically to assess the degree of completeness and validity and applicability to YOUR situation.

I agree with you ray. And thanks for showing us more stuff to look. I hadn't seen it. Basically, for me, I've read tons of stuff on orchids, and I just remember the stuff they keep repeating. But, then again, thats how memory works eh?
