I know a lady with a corgi who does that too! In the Midwest also! Hers is the type of corgie that is "blond" and has no tail.

Hey there! Sorry I did not see this when you first posted a couple weeks ago. I also love doing things with my dogs and I used to compete in AKC obedience and rally. My two are in their senior years now and retired from active competition and training. We used to dabble in agility, but I never got as far as competing in that sport. How many of those dogs in the pictures are yours?

I own two Cardigan Welsh Corgis (the corgi with the tail for you all in the States) both of which now do Agility. My oldest is the black and white girl in the linked photo with the dog sticking her tongue out in the photo. She's nine now and only needs 250 more speed points for her Preferred Agility Championship (PACH) since she has earned 22 double Q's. My youngest is a male age 3 just started his competitive Agility career this past fall. He finished his Novice STD title in two weekends and two legs towards his jumpers. Both T'Pol and Brogan do Rally. Brogan since he's the "steadier" working dog of the two will be my competitive obedience dog. We enjoy doing Coursing Ability Tests (CATs) and both of my kiddos are pet therapy dogs who regularly go to nursing homes.

Congratulations on your titles and the ones still to come! I like the Cardigan Welsh Corgis. I currently have two Dobermans, but I sometimes think about what kind of dog I may get if I decide to downsize at some point, and that breed is definitely high on the list. A couple of my fellow club members have them.

I'm now wondering if we have something else in common. With one of your dogs being named T'Pol, are you a Star Trek fan?

The look on that dog's face is just stinkin' priceless!

You're right... a great dog review of your handling skills.

I'll be volunteering at an agility trial in a few weeks, put on by Arizona Schnauzer Rescue. Maybe I'll see you there?

I haven't been on the forum lately because I've been playing in agility with the Heathen Twins.

I have to brag on my Cardigan Welsh Corgi girl T'Pol who will be turning 10 years old on June 6. In the last months she's earned from the AKC her Masters Jumpers with Weaves Preferred 5, Masters Silver Jumpers with Weaves Preferred (MJPS), Master Bronze Agility Preferred, Master Agility Excellent Preferred 4 and is only 82 points away (and if she stays healthy) from earning her PACH (Preferred Agility Champion).

My Cardi Boy, Brogan, has earned from the AKC his Novice Jumpers with Weaves (NAJ). He's teaching me how much I don't know about handling. Why you ask? Because he runs like he's shot out of a cannon that locks on to whatever he sees first (I got this Chief!) whilst his handler runs like a tortoise slogging through peanut butter desperately trying to verbally convince him that what he's locked on is NOT the next obstacle. (No you don't have this Sport!)

Congratulations on all of those new AKC titles! I had to laugh at your description of your handling challenges. You paint a funny picture, but it sounds like you are doing just fine. I admire anybody who can compete successfully in the sport. It looks like hard work!

Oh, my, I just re-read my post up-thread and when I said I was thinking about maybe downsizing from my Dobermans, I guess it could have sounded like I was talking about trading them in or something. Never! They're with me for the long haul, I love them, they're family. I only meant, when the day comes that they have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, I may think about getting smaller dogs.

I have a shameless brag now but T'Pol now has her PACH (Preferred Agility Championship) at age 10 years and is retired from competing in agility. She is "officially" per the AKC, PACH Idylls Ode To A Gryffyns Journey RE HT MXP4 MXPB MJP6 MJPS PAX CAA THD RATN CGC TKN

Brogan, my boy, you are going to have your big boy tidy whities on because you have some big shoes to fill in agility.

(for those not of the dog world the letters for Rally Obedience Excellent, Herding Tested, Preferred Master's agility Standard (Bronze), Preferred Master's Agility Jumpers (Silver), Coursing ability advanced , Therapy dog, Barn Hunt novice, Canine Good Citizen, and novice trick dog.)
