He guards all birds. They're the only living thing besides the family and our pets that he allows to remain living in our backyard. We had a squirrel nest in one of our trees when we moved in. A year later we got Washington, and by the time he was 9 months old the squirrels would access the nest only through the canopy of trees. Eventually they abandoned it.

Bella is such a gorgeous friend! You are fortunate!

Birds are by far my favorite kind of pets. They're like having toddlers for ... 90+ years! So intelligent and sensitive, and always giving you something to laugh at. I'll bet you two have a special relationship.
