Aw! She's beautiful. Congrats on the new addition to the family. Give it some time, Ben will adjust... it took our cat several weeks to become even slightly ok with the idea of a new cat entering the house, and now they occasionally groom one another (when they think no one is watching)

Agatha is simply stunning! I can easily understand how you fell under her spell so quickly. Just something special shining there in her eyes. I'm truly glad you found each other.

Ah, poor Ben. He looks more scared than anything. Although the word ferocious does come to mind! Lots of love and attention and some time should ease his mind.

Lots of luck and keep us posted on the progress made.

Both Cats are gorgeous and thank-you for giving a home to a rescue animal!

First time in 12 years!!! I think the next weeks will be quite "interesting"!!
Also, advice on introducing new cats to established territories (a little late I know sorry). We have found, especially if done before the introduction of a new cat that cleaning the house and introducing a strong scent (NOT CITRUS! Though cinnamon is good) to a home can help the established moggy to adjust faster and easier.

As you have already introduced Agatha, you may want to try Fussing Ben first, use a rag cloth, and then fuss Agatha with that rag cloth. It can help, as a cats sense of smell is far superior to our own. It can be done visa versa eventually, but at the beginning you want to new cat to smell like the old one (so to speak).

Hope that helps (if only a little!). Hopefully they will get on with each other eventually, and then they will team up on you!

ok, now that things are getting back to normal... Ben has accepted Agatha, even though he gets easily annoyed when she wants to play (he is 13 years old and she is just 5 or 6 months old!)... I was able to take some better pictures of her (the previous one was taken with my mobile phone)..

awww - what a beautiful girl! I'm glad Ben is coming to accept her - I know the youngsters can be annoying to the older kitties

What a beautiful cat!! Does sound like she adopted you, and not the other way around! I love rescue animals, they have gone through so much yet have so much love to give. My guinea pigs have only been rescues, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

How is Agatha with the orchids so far? (or are all of those out in the GH now?)
