Ball Python

This is one of several classroom pets in my sons 6th grade class. It has come home with us for the summer break.

Is he on mice or does he need gerbils? I'll never forget my first. I rescued him from a pet store that had him full of ticks. He was wild caught and never ate a mouse before. We had to give him gerbils until we could eventually get him to eat mice. We kept gerbils for their scent. We literally did a shake and bake with the thawed mouse in a bag of gerbil bedding.
After all that, we gave him to a friend who still has him.
Wonderful animals.

He's (Monte) on mice. He did go thru the couple month non-eating rest period typical with wild caught specimens though.

His body looks clean of pests. Though, he was kept on sand and it had gotten up under his belly scales. There was a lot of scab-like clumps of sand, skin, and crud stuck to his underside. We gave him a warm bath, and were able to remove much of it.

Thanks for looking

That is an AWSOME pet! I would like to have one, but I don't really have the time to take care of one. I also have 3 cats, who would love to eat a snake. I don't want the poisonous ones. I won't buy those if you payed me. I'm not going to the hospital because of a poisonuos pet snake.
