My girl's 2nd birthday! - Orchid Board

This year has been a biggy for me when we talk about loss. First was my little, silly girl, Bunny (pic 1) who passed on Dec. 18 from a brain tumor. Then, on April 5, my beautiful Annie (pic 2) died from gross medical negligence from what should have been a simple procedure, removing some growths on her legs and neck.

But inbetween these 2 heartbreaking losses, I found Daffy who helped mend these sad times and more than that, has added immeasurable joy to my life.

Tomorrow (July 27th) Daffy turns 2!

Since I shared with you all here, my sorrows over my losses, is it ok now to share with you some happiness and pass on these pics of my Daffy who I've been blessed with? OF COURSE IT IS!!!!

Oh, it's sooooo hard to lose a beloved pet. I'm so sorry for your losses. . .

Happy Birthday, Daffy!!! I'm so glad you're bringing so much happiness and comfort to your Meowmie.

I sympathize deeply with your losses. Our beloved Mozart (the orange kitty, 2nd fr left in avatar) suddenly collapsed and died in front of me on Dec 17 from congenital heart failure. He was only 6 yrs old. We miss him so badly.

Soooo, does Daffy get a special birthday dinner? I usually let them have some Fancy Feast then (kitty fast food equivalent)!

And thank you too, orchidraver! Thank you for the words. The emphasis now is on what I've been blessed with and Daffy is a joy! I'm so sorry for your loss as well. Bunny, my kitty who passed from a brain tumor, died one day after your sweetie, Mozart. And I know too well about congenital heart failure in cats....an all too common disease in felines, sadly. I had an 11 month old calico who died 5 years ago from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy...suddenly, also.

Animals are the greatest!

While the heartbreak of the losses never quite disappears, life always seems to find way to to on. I'm so glad for you Sandy!

She is just the sweetest lookin doll. And as much love and happiness she has brought to you, I'm sure she gets a whole lotta love and happiness from you.

Sandy, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your 2 beloved babies. It's difficult when you suffer the loss of cherished pets. I'm glad you have Daffy to fill your life with joy and love. She's just gorgeous with her beautiful amber eyes and wonderful warm expression. I see from the first photo that she likes plants too. She seems to be the perfect companion and looks very content in her loving home.

Ahhh, thanks everyone! I'll pass on the good wishes to my girl. Funny, one of the aides who takes care of my mother, bought Daffy a bunch of cat toys for her birthday (really!) and as I'm typing this, I hear little bells getting banged and rolled around.
