On a diff note .... what are the white rice-like objects in the water behind him in pic #2? Look like fly or ant pupae.

Those are springtails (tiny decomposers), I culture them for food...normally they walk around, but I filled the little root cavity with water so they all started floating around

It is a Poison Dart Frog. But these are not poisonous in captivity. So they are the little jewels of the pet trade. Which is good and bad.
This particular species is called Dendrobates leucomelas. Sorry, its not a Dendrobium
