Default Fire Belly Toads

Hi there,
Since I am new to the board, I was wondering....does anyone have Fire Belly Toads? I have two, Gonzo and Kermit. I bought them a month ago.
They live in a 10 gal. tank but are separated now by a divider. Last week Gonzo tried to eat Kermit. Poor Kermit. He/she is fine but the two of them seem to pine away for each other. I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with these little guys? They normally like to be social with each other, but eating one for dinner is not being social.
Gonzo has long legs, he can jump. While Kermit is a bit smaller. Each eat a cricket a day.Sometimes they eat 2. I have talked to the petstore and they think Gonzo is a bully, I like him. I'd like to think of it as spunk. Maybe its love, but I am afraid to leave Gonzo and Kermit together for a long length of time. I bought these two because I love frogs and thought this was a great way to get into the hobby. My outside garden must have at least 50 frog statues hidden among the plants.
So please share your frog stories. I would love to hear them. Just to round out this picture, I also have a fat tailed gecko, three dogs and a cat.

I used to have firebellies. I would suggest a larger tank, like a 20 long, and a few more toads. Having a group keeps one individual from being bulied, and allows for a wider range of social interaction. Also, it could be that the big one was going for a cricket near the little one, and grabbed him instead. Firebellies are very enthusiastic feeders, and will try to eat anything in their path when they're chasing a cricket.

Thanks Tony for the quick reply. I wondered about the size of the tank. And a group? hmmm. I just bought the new filter and it is for 5 and 10 gal. tanks. I was hoping the 10 gal. would be enough. How about a 3rd buddy?
I did read and have observed these guys do not care what is in their way for a meal. Gonzo actually held Kermit under the water and then chomped on Kermits belly when he tried to come up. Not a pretty site. But I know if in the wild, a different story.
So the 1-2 crickets/day is not too much? They are the large crickets. I have read and was told they would eat every few days like the gecko but I have not found that. Sorry for the questions, but you are first I have heard to have these guys besides the folks at the petstore and everything I have read on-line.

I think little Kermit will be fine so long as Kermit doesn't actually fit inside Gonzos mouth. Firebellies will quickly learn what is and is not edible.

Thanks Tindo for the reassurance. Funny when I got them I was really looking forward to the relaxation but that incident made the situation turn quickly. I found Gonzo on the other side this morning. He must have jumped the divider. How he managed to squeeze between the lid and divider..... I wish I had seen that. So he is determined to be with his pal. But Kermit looked fine, what a surprise that must have been for the both them. I will be changing the water next week, maybe I will try putting them together again.
