Susanne, thanks for the great ideas. I did have a tiny bit more fungus that sprouted while inwas away so i did the listerine treatment as recommended. I also set up a bottle of the susanne special for future use. I have two dogs too so the safer the better.

BTW is it a 50/50 mix ratio?

I found another small patch of this
fuzzy stuff where I cut into one of the pbulbs. I sprayed it with listenine again but it seems like these two pbulbs might have to be removed. It is so sad, this plant always gets sick and goes back to having three or four pbulbs and then won't flower since it lost the newest growth.

Does anyone have any last ditch advice? I had to remove two more pbulbs just now, leaving me with one mature pbulb and one that is tiny but from a previous year. The larger one has a kind of mushy spot at the base of the pbulb. I removed the mold or fungus and had to cut into the pbulb. I sprayed it with listerine then applied cinnamon to the wound. I unpotted it and sprayed the roots with listerine also. I did not repot it because I think drying it hard may help, but I am really just guessing.

Does anyone think I should separate the two remainig pbulbs since one has t shown any sign of disease yet? The healthy one is really tiny though... I am so distraught.

What would I do? I would separate it, and hope for the best.

So far I left the two remaining pbulbs intact but took them out of the pot and let them dry out completely. I am watching it very closely. I have the remaining two diseased pbulbs outside and have been watching them too.

I got some pictures with my phone and uploaded them to flickr so I am just trying to figure out how to get them on here next. It shows the mold/fungus and it is amazing that most of it appeared since last night. This stuff moves fast. I'll attempt to get the pics up here next.

How about garden sulphur. It's usually in a yellow powder form. It is supposed to be very good for mildew and molds and fungus. It stinks but who cares when the health of an orchid is at stake? It can be purchased at a garden store.
