Default Lctna. Lawless Gloriana 'Yellow'

Early winter this plant came down with something which spread quite fast across the whole plant. I treated with Phyton 27 and the infection stopped dead in its tracks. Though there are still numerous ugly leaves left on the plant they are slowly yellowing and falling off.

On close inspection today I noticed that it has since put out 8 new healthy growths.

Can anyone tell from the old leaves what the infection might have been? I think it had originally spread from a jade plant I had sitting right next to it.

Obviously a fungus of some sort, if Phyton took care of it.

Quite often that happens if plants are misted, or left wet after watering, especially as it gets cool and dark at night.

Well it was definitely fungal or bacterial. I wasn't sure which because of the speed with which it spread. This much damage was done in about a week, and I had a number of other orchids that I had to treat as well. I had a couple catts a few years ago that fell to bacterial rot in a few days though.

They weren't misted, but my old growing area was somewhat enclosed and got very little air movement.

Glad for you that you saved your plant. Just a suggestion though. If I were you I would clean up most of the damaged leaves since it is responding with new growth it can return to a healthy looking plant.

Thanks for the encouragement.

When it started putting out new growths the old diseased leaves started falling out a lot faster. Since I posted the first message in this thread, four of the old leaves have yellowed and fallen off all on their own. I'm a little hesitant in forcing it along faster in fear of damaging the plant and potentially opening it up to more infection, but at the rate it's going, most of the diseased growth should be gone withing the month anyway.

If the new growths mature without any further signs of disease, then any old growth left will definitely be coming out.
