Angry Help! Mold growing on snail pellets!

Hi everyone, I got a couple of new orchids recently and noticed some small bush snails crawling about. I put snail pellets on the medium (coconut husk) and it looks like the snails are gone now. But the snail pellets themselves are growing fuzzy white mold all over them. I tried spraying Captan on them but it didn't really help. How can I get rid of the mold? I'm afraid it will spread to the medium. Your advice is much appreciated!

Just pick off the pellets, mold and all. I have the same problem.

I had the same problem and I just picked them all out. That should take care of it. I've read somewhere that there are pellets that don't get any mold.
Maybe someone on the board knows about this.

Sluggo (a product by Montereylawngarden.com) is Iron Phosphate and much more resistant to moisture than other products, but it, too, will mold if kept wet for any length of time. I still use it for small snails, but place the pellets where I can reach them easily with tweezers to remove them when moldy. Sluggo is also safe around pets, something Buggeta and others can't claim.
