Default Black , round spot. Unknown orchid

I got 5 orchids from a lady that did not care for them. I would like to help the poor plants. The one in the picture has this ugly, big, black spot. Is this sunburn?

By the way, the container seems small (6"). Should I used something bigger?
Thanks a bunch!

Sure looks like sunburn to me. Your Phalaenopsis looks pretty good though. Lots of healthy roots are good. as far as pot size goes, I think the one it is in is fine. Just don't let it dry out too much, it looks like it may be a little on the dry side. Keep us posted.
