Couldn't find how the solotion concentration is expressed (1% in weight or volume?)

Considering % in weight and water density equal to 1 a 2% solution is an expresso diluted in 4 liters of water.
I'll try it!

Done!
Let's see if it works...monitoring time!

My calculations were incorrect...it should be an expresso for 50 ml of water.

There have been scientific studies that "proved" caffeine did not do anything helpful and others that said it was effective.

Many years ago, I collected the dregs from our morning coffee pot in an old milk jug, adding about 10% isopropyl alcohol in an effort to suppress mold growth. When poured over/into plants with bush snails about every other day for a week, it appeared to eliminate them.

Hello Ray

I believe some of the variance is the results may be the result of the inaccurate concentration values. How would one measure caffeine %? I think, without an adequate lab it might be difficult.

I made my solution but I don't have a clue if it has the caffeine % I want. An expresso is just a measure as, here in Portugal, it may contain something between 80 to 100 mg per 60 ml (expresso), depending on the coffee blend.

If they are available at your local pharmacy, you could use caffeine tablets and dissolve them.

The tablets have a specific number of milligrams, easier to work out concentrations.

I seem to recall caffeine doesn't dissolve too well; a little better in acidic solutions.

I don't know about acidic solutions, but caffeine is pretty soluble in boiling water (e.g., coffee), but less so in room temperature water; also see chemistry section of Wikipedia page: Caffeine - Wikipedia

I don't get slugs or snails in my part of the world - but saw online a product called 'sluggo'.
