More labor intensive, but I bring my sensitive outdoor orchids into the garage overnight when cold weather is forecasted and then put them out again in the morning.

Hello my orchid friends, its been a week and here are some more pictures, some even up close. Do i need to be concerned? what are the black spots? And if you look at 3rd picture, that big root has some black on it, is that healthy? Also I moved the Phals inside, and should I be worried about the pitting spots on the leaves? Again, i'd be heart broken if I lost any of these. thanks again for your help

I don't see anything to worry about. A few spots from the cold are to be expected, but not likely to do any harm. If they start to spread you can be concerned about fungal issues, but so far, looks OK. And the root looks fine. Even if there are a few cracks on the velamin (the spongy outside of the root) the inside "business part" is fine.

Agreed with Roberta. The Oncidiums are prone to spotting and the phals look like mechanical damage. That can happen without you realizing.
